Everyone is searching for something. It has been said that the ends of life are these three: truth in knowledge or wisdom, life in devotion or emotion and justice in good deeds or works. Another will say the meaning of life is found in truth, beauty and goodness. Yet another will say that truth is relative and formed through intellect and emotions. Philosophy, science and religion seek to form truth through knowledge, life through devotion and justice through works.
yet what is truth?
The search is real. Is truth something we can create ourselves, out of our own minds? Is it possible to form truth from our selfish desires, life experiences and inherited beliefs?
No. Truth is something pure and existed before the beginning of time. It is humanity’s journey to find it, not to determine it.
trapped
Our forefathers through their own pride and selfish desires became blinded to it, yet the desire to find the answer remained.
As a result many people started trusting in themselves or in objects of worship made by their own hands. The only way to find truth is in truth itself, the creator of heaven and earth and all things good.
So humanity created their own gods. Consequently became trapped in fear, trying to control the evil spirits, and the gods of their own creation through bribes, magic formulas and sacrifices to get what they wanted or needed.
Humanity became blinded to the truth, corrupted by their own selfish desires and became trapped in an endless struggle for power and control.
Humanity cannot determine truth. It can only be determined by a higher being. The Eternal One who created heaven and earth and all things good.
revelation
A Psalmist received this revelation about the Eternal One, the Lord and wrote about Him.
Psalms 146:6-10 (The Lord) Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners, The Lord opens the eyes of the blind, The Lord raises those who are bowed down, The Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down. The Lord shall reign forever—Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!
the way to truth
The Lord God Almighty created heaven and earth and all things good. He keeps truth forever. He is faithful and true. The only way to truth is God Himself. Every word God speaks is truth, His audible voice and written word.
However if we listen to God’s word through selfish desires, we can attach incorrect meaning to His word. We can apply a meaning that God never intended. Therefore as we come to God’s Word simply surrender what we think it means and ask God to reveal His truth.
Anyone who is genuinely searching will find it. God has poured out His Spirit, the Spirit of truth to reveal Himself to a searching heart. When Jesus walked this earth as a man He declared this to His disciples.
John 15:26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”
life and beauty in truth
The word of God, God Himself who is faithful and true became a man, a perfect man, walked the earth, sacrificed His human body, died in human form, rose from the dead in a resurrected body, defeated death and all the evil powers, so that we can live today reborn with His Spirit in His truth.
The Apostle John testifies of Jesus in John 1:12-14 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
In this life we can be free from the evil powers, free from all the curses, free from the lies spoken over us, free from fear, free from trying to control the evil spirits and the gods of human creation and free from the struggle for power and control. Free in this life and the next.
John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
justice in truth
God has appointed a time of justice. The One who is faithful and true will judge the empires of humanity.
Revelation 19:11-16 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
In addition to the judgement of the nations, individuals who rejected Jesus will also be judged. As they rejected the only way to truth, life and justice.
goodness and life eternal
In justice evil and death will be totally eliminated. Those who received and believed in Jesus, giving their total allegiance to Him are free from judgement of evil and enter into His eternal Kingdom. Receiving resurrected perfected bodies that never wear out, never get sick or die. Eternal life that is full of all God’s goodness, physically, mentally and spiritually.
All who receive and believe in Jesus are transferred from the kingdom of lies into the kingdom of truth, from the kingdom of death into the kingdom of life, from the kingdom of no justice, into the kingdom of justice, where all are equal, valued and loved.
conclusion
Only the creator of heaven and earth and all things good can determine truth. Humanity became blinded to it, corrupted by their own selfish desires and became trapped in a struggle for power and control. Jesus became the way to truth, everlasting life and justice.
John 14:6 ‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’
